We have a range of facilities and accommodation options that can cater for individuals, small and larger groups. Its central location and stunning architecture make it the ideal location for wedding ceremonies, wedding photographs and photography shoots. The venue is fully wheelchair accessible.
Event Spaces
The magnificent refurbished Victorian Italianate building, “Benvenuta” (which translates to Welcome in Italian), has a number of spaces available for hire, and can cater for a variety of group sizes and events including wedding ceremonies, graduation celebrations, photography shoots and music recitals. Rates depend on group size and requirements.

Conferences & Training Courses
Medley Hall has several spaces that would be perfect for your next event or conference.
Projectors and whiteboards are available on request and visitors can connect the University’s Guest internet network at no extra charge.
Parking is available on-street during business hours (limited spaces) and there are numerous nearby all-day parking facilities on Lygon Street, Queensberry Street and Drummond Street.
Catering for morning and afternoon teas, lunch and evening meals can be arranged through Carlton Providores who have a focus on providing fresh, seasonal, ethically-produced food.
Group Accommodation
From Mid November to Mid February, Medley Hall offers short-term accommodation for eligible groups, eg school and student groups. Our comfortable student rooms with shared bathrooms and kitchenette facilities are a great choice for visitors looking for an affordable accommodation option near to the city and the University of Melbourne.
- 50 single rooms, all linen provided.
- Availability from mid-November to mid-February
- Self-catering (kitchenettes on each floor)

- Group enquiries welcome (catering can be provided for groups > 20)
Please note that all guests visiting Medley Hall need to be double vaccinated and must provide their digital certificate upon arrival as per the University of Melbourne's guidelines.
