Greta Lang-Ashworth
The Greta Wilkinson scholarship has really helped me manage any worries that I had about settling into Melbourne. I have been able to focus on my studies without thinking about the financial side of things.

I chose Medley because of its location – it’s very close to the VCA campus and Lygon street - and the smaller community appealed to me more. The building is really pretty and the architecture is impeccable. It’s really nice to come home and relax here and I think the roof top is one of my favourite places. I like to go up there because I’m surrounded by nature at home so getting that fresh air is important to me. I also, like having Carlton Gardens found right behind Medley. I like going there to read a book and taking myself out of the city which is good. Moving from home in a rural area has been a huge adjustment so it’s good to have the gardens nearby.
I grew up in the Otway Ranges which is a couple of hours from Melbourne and The Greta Wilkinson scholarship has really helped me manage any anxieties and worries that I had about settling into Melbourne. I have been able to focus on my studies without worrying about the financial side of things.
I am vegan and the food here is really good. I wasn’t sure what to expect but when I got here, the food was just amazing, and the caterers make such a variety. I really like it! The lunches are my favourite. I often place lunch orders as I have to travel to Southbank for classes, and I sometimes can’t make it on time for lunch, so I feel that I never miss out.
